I've seen the ones in California that are on the tops of the mountains and filling the valleys. And they go on for miles. It's certainly not a sight I would want to see from my home. I always mused that they outlawed billboards out there but then allow such an obtrusive blot on the landscape, but maybe that's just me. I would honestly rather see smog across the landscape than these. At least you can tell there is a landscape with the smog....

I knew someone who powered the lights in their cottage about 30 years ago with a small windmill, but that was more the size of the ones you'd see over wells.

Lol
Is it actually that bad? I have seen pictures of power generating turbines and they don't look that bad, but I guess it would be a different story if one actually saw it in real life. I guess I wouldn't really mind them that much though, since they are only turbines whereas if it was smog I really would be concerned for my health.

I had seen these turbines in my village and such views are lacking in the bigger places. Good to hear the news that GE won the contract, I like the way every natural thing is put into use for some purposes to be fulfilled by humans.

We do have a lot of turbines out here. Most of them seem to be on long stretches of the highways, and I actually enjoy driving past them. I wish we had more, More energy here in California is needy to keep with demand. The part of California I live in has not disallowed billboards and or signs.

I think it would be wonderful if they put in more wind turbines. The price is very high to put them in, but from what I've heard, the upkeep isn't any worse than any other form. They are so much cleaner that I think it would be worth it. A big company choosing to do so, would probably help them a lot, too, because people who are concerned about the environment would be more likely to support them.
