So I can see that the forum just changed its skin from original green to blue color.

I think that this color looks great although the green ties in with the concept of "green energy" better.

What do you guys think?

I agree with your thoughts on the green tie-in. Actually I hadn't noticed the change.

Maybe the colour can be changed by the user?

Actually the old theme was dark gray and didn't even match the site. I don't know where you saw the theme was green but we changed the dark gray to blue to match the look and feel of the site.
