We were thinking about going Solar with our home but we know nothing about making this adjustment. I figure I could spend less on my electric bill if we were to create our own solar energy. What is a rough cost of turning your home solar?

It really depends on the size of your home and what all you plan on doing. I think the best planned out houses are a combination of solar and living roofs.

What is a living roof?

Living roofs serve several purposes and are really great in cities especially. Basically they are green roofs, meaning they are eco friendly but they are also green because they are living (plants are grown on them).

This helps by reducing runoff water whne it rains, which I know in Chicago is a huge problem. It also reduces the amount of energy used to cool and heat the building because the plants keep it from heating up by the sun or becoming toaaly frozen in the winter.

I found that - even though the cost of installing the solar panels was high - the difference in my power bills is enormous. The savings are really noticeable.

I can definitely recommend this option
