A documentary on Discovery showed that a car running on compressed oxygen, absolutely non polluting and money efficient. The car a top speed between 80 and 100 Km per hour. The only problem is that a safe and practical model was not made. There can be a high risk of the compressed oxygen to explode. What is your opinion about this new method of transportation?

From my point of view, the only benefit I can really see is the fact that it has 0 emission, but in terms of practicality, is it really practical?
For instance, on the drive to work, most of us take the highway route, often exceeding 120km, but for a car that can only take us 100km, would you really be able to use it for every application of your daily lives?
On the other hand, it would be a nice "second vehicle" to own, as I could take it to go shopping or do other light tasks in which high speeds is not required.

Well Se7en the model I was talking about that could only reach about 100 Km an hour was an experimental one.Who knows what future prototypes will come next if the idea is exploited further.Maybe in a few years some models could reach even 200 Km an hour, although 140 would be more than enough.Just needs to become a practical solution.

Well Doe, if they could develop further prototypes that could travel up to 140km , who wouldn't be excited! For me, I know that I would definitely buy one!
The only question that I have would be how much these types of oxygen cars would cost as opposed to fuel burning cars.

I think fairly cheap. The system isn't complicated, because it runs on a very simple principle, pressure power. And even if they would be at the same price as fuel cars, the money saved on gas compared to compressed air, oxygen will buy your car back in a couple of years.

Well I am sure with all the brain power out there someone will come up with something sooner or later. There has to be a way to apply that energy in a useful, safe and practical way- we just havent figured it out yet.
